Marty Funkhouser is upset over Ida’s roadside memorial not having enough flowers; Larry complains about ice cream “sample abusers”.
I’m yet to watch this episode and will add my thoughts by tomorrow at the latest. But everyone else feel free to give your opinion in the comments!

BuddyTV reports Lucy Lawless will play herself in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm that airs on Sunday, October 21. By my calculations this should be the episode titled, The Tivo Guy. In an interview, the actress famous for role as Xena: Warrior Princess, reflected on working with Larry:
“To me, that was the ideal working situation. It is all unscripted, but everyone is totally relaxed. Larry David is such a doll. I so enjoyed working with him, and we had a good time…. I seem to make him laugh. I don’t know why,”.
The article also noted that John McEnroe will appear this season but we already knew that. However they did also note that Ben Stiller will be making a return this season, who hasn’t been seen since his argument with Larry regarding sitting in the front seat of his car since mid-season 4. Anyway, as a Ben Stiller fan I for one am looking forward to it.

He was voted as our favourite supporting cast member so I’m sure most of you would like to hear what he’s up to. Jeff has been doing a lot of interviews promoting his new film, I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With. He’s also spoken a bit about Curb in those interviews, here a couple of the more substantial ones: MrMedia and FilmThreat.
His film, that he wrote, directed and acts in, also stars comedian Sarah Silverman, and from the trailer below you can see the influence of working with Larry on his work.

It’s moving day for both the Blacks and the Davids; Larry’s prized Joe Pepitone jersey is lost at the dry cleaners; Larry’s irked at Ted Danson’s anonymous donation; Cheryl is grossed out by a semen stain on a guest-room quilt.
I really loved this episode. Much more than last week’s. I thought the whole “anonymous” concept was very funny and Larry played it to perfection. It was great to see Larry get angry in this ep, leading to great exchanges with Ted Danson. Susie also made her markedly merciless return, coining the funniest phrase to come out of Curb Your Enthusiasm, “revenge masturbatory payback”. Everyone is entertaining in this episode including Jeff with an hilarious confession, as well as guest star Senator Barbara Boxer who does surprisingly well improvising with Larry and Ted despite not being an actor.
My rating 5/5.
Your opinions welcome!

Season 6 premiered last night.
The Davids take in a family whose life was destroyed by a hurricane.
Larry comes up with a way to avoid going to parties he has no desire to attend.
My rating: 4/5
I will write more about it once more fans have watched it.
Meanwhile, feel free to discuss!
Also, the site has a new logo courtesy of fellow Larry David fan and graphic designer, Tom. He sent me the new banner today, which he whipped up himself and I think looks excellent.
Thanks again Tom!
Oh and season 3 poll will start tomorrow!
Gillian Flynn from EW.com has given season 6 of Curb Your Enthusiasm a B+ rating writing,
This season is pritty, pritty good.
There’s also some positives coming from Mike Duffy at the Miami Herald, who reviewed the season saying:
So “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is back at last. And that’s a good thing, as well as a very, very funny thing. Take it away, TV Larry. You go ahead … play the mouthy, outlandish fool so we can all be grandly entertained and smartly amused.
Lastly, Barry Garron from The Hollywood Reporter gave fans three reasons to watch this season of Curb:
1. It is the most perfectly plotted comedy on TV. At the end of the half-hour, all the seemingly random strands of story lines always manage to come together in a way you never expect.
2. It is constantly funny. Not most of the time. Not with the right guest stars. Each and every episode.
3. Who knows when you’ll see it again? Like a comet in the sky or the McRib sandwich at McDonald’s, it comes and goes without rhyme or reason. Maybe the mood will again strike creator and star Larry David and he’ll do another season. Maybe not. Even this one has just 10 episodes. Enjoy it while you can.
I don’t think we need a fourth.
Not long to go now!
Fellow Larry David fan, Jim has been kind enough to share his experience of seeing Larry in conversation with Susie Essman at the 92nd Street Y.
You had asked me to tell you about the Larry David Night at the Y so here it is. First off HBO was taping it, so it will either be on HBO, HBO On Demand or included in the Season 6 DVD set as it was being recorded. the second thing that happened is that susie was introduced and told everyone that they are in for a special treat, we got to see the first episode of Curb, (Meet The Blacks). All i am going to say was it was HILARIOUS! then Larry and Susie talked for about 1 hour and 20 minutes after that. Jeff was in the audience standing behind my mom and I the whole time. Dark glasses, lost weight and had a crew cut. Susie and larry discussed the development of Curb, the opening episode, the outlines, took questions from the audience, and asked larry about his past. Susie talked about her character. Larry said that he is 50/50 on season 7 and there was a good chance of it happening. He also said that Season 6 was 80/20 of NOT happening. Infact, Susie called Larry in January and asked about another year and larry said no to take something else, then called susie back and said yes. It was great seeing Larry in person. though i did not get to meet him. He slipped though the side door. The show was a complete sell out, aside from 2 seats in the row in the front to the left of us. Which was good so we can see. We were in row Y in Orch. which was good you can see larry and susie pretty good. so, there ya go!
Thanks again to Jim for taking the time to tell us about his experience.
Verne Gay from Newsday.com is very positive in his article reviewing the latest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. He particularly makes mention of episode 3, The Ida Funkhouser Roadside Memorial as a “series high-watermark”. If you don’t want to read any spoilers for the first episode, Meet the Blacks, stay away from reading the full article. I will tell you that it features Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, as well as Bob Einstein as Marty Funkhouser who is set to have a bigger (and funnier) role this season. Verne tells us “he has scenes and lines that will make you weep with laughter”. He finishes his article with the reassuring description of the series we loyal Larry David fans have been expecting:
Magnificent. As always.
IGN also have an advance review of episode one:
“Meet the Blacks” is a very funny episode of the show. This is a series that has raised the bar extremely high for itself, and while this isn’t among the best installments Curb has offered, it still offers a ton of laughs throughout its half hour. David and Cheryl Hines are a great onscreen duo at this point, and no one plays exasperated better than Hines, as she has to deal with Larry doing one annoying thing after another. Danson and Steenburgen again seem to be having a great time playing themselves, and the entire cast, including Jeff Garlin, Lewis, and Susie Essman continue to deliver some of the most impressive improvised comedy television has ever offered.

I’ve upped a video to YouTube of Larry on Late Night with David Letterman on 5th September.
Here is a poor quality video of Larry on The View today. I will post a better quality one once it becomes available. The first minute and last two are irrelevant so you can skip those bits. Note: I didn’t make this video.
I read two new interesting articles on the upcoming season 6 of Curb today. Brian Lowry from Variety had this to say about what we can expect come September 9th:
After what was widely (and rightly) dismissed as a disappointing season, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” roars back with a terrific trio of half-hours to open year six, so dense and intricate in weaving together Larry David’s twisted view of humanity it’s remarkable how neatly the episodes tie together their loose ends. Widely imitated but seldom equaled in the art-imitating-celebrity-life genre, this HBO series has experienced missteps but remains the unrivaled standard-bearer in behind-the-ivied-gates glimpses of Hollywood self-obsession.
What can we expect from episode 1?
Larry will be welcoming an African-American family displaced due to “Hurricane Edna” into his house. Larry also finds a way to miss social functions. I won’t give it away but you can read it in the article.
Brian also rates the second and third episodes highly which include: “vital new insights on the etiquette of masturbation and dry cleaning; a surprisingly good guest shot by California Sen. Barbara Boxer; discussion of how many tastes is too many at the ice-cream counter; and Larry’s growing jealousy toward the saintly (Ted) Danson”.
An article on USA Today doesn’t say much more about what we can expect in season 6, but does give us hope for more Curb in the future. When asked about the possibility of a seventh season he replied the chances were now at “50-50. If I go back to Los Angeles with 10 good ideas, that will tip the balance.”
Another quick heads-up. Larry to appear on the Late Show with David Letterman tonight September 5th on CBS at 11:30PM along with Danny Devito and Avril Lavigne. Thanks again to Jim for the notice.

A quick notice to those who want to catch Larry in a rare TV interview. He will be appearing on The View on Wednesday September 5th to talk about the new season of Curb I presume. Regardless, I will post a YouTube cap of it once one becomes available.
Thanks to fellow fan Jim, I have the titles for episodes 1-8 except for episode number 4. The synopsis of eps 1-4 are from IGN.
1. Meet The Blacks
Cheryl talks Larry into adopting the Blacks, a family displaced by a hurricane; Larry invents the “perfect” excuse for missing a pair of parties.
2. The Anonymous Donor
The Davids and the Blacks move into a new house, and take in a new guest; Larry rewrites a dry-cleaning rule; Jeff finds his reputation stained; and Larry envies Ted Danson’s anonymity.
3. The Ida Funkhouser Roadside Memorial
Larry argues with Susie and Richard Lewis over condolences, confronts a pair of “sample abusers” at an ice-cream parlor and a perfumery, and is accused of pinching flowers by Marty Funkhouser.
4. The Lefty Call (Thanks Jim)
Larry’s regrets getting Richard Lewis’ girlfriend Cha Cha a job near the office bathroom; a waiter is doomed by a doggy-bag dispute; and Larry proves inept at “talking lefty.”
5. The Freak Book
6. The Rat Dog
7. The Tivo Guy
8. The N Word
I am very sorry this has taken an extra week to come up. I know it isn’t an excuse but I have been pretty busy as of late, however I have been keeping up to date and have a lot of news and content to come in this final week before the season 6 premiere of Curb.
The winner of the season 1 poll last week was Beloved Aunt (35%). This week we move on to season 2. Again you can see the options and then cast your vote in the sidebar to your right. For synopsis’ and other details to refresh your memory of the episodes in season two, have a look at the episode guides available at HBO, Wikipedia and EpGuides/TV.com.
My vote goes to The Doll. This episode is possibly my fave of all time:
Larry and Julia successfully pitch the show to ABC; Larry then traumatizes the executive’s daughter by cutting her priceless doll’s hair off.
Rewatch this episode and just appreciate how the plot and storyline comes together, it is simply genius and with a hilarious ending to boot. In this episode Susie really comes into her own, with her punishing abuse of both Larry and Jeff when they take Sammy’s doll.
Happy voting!
