Season 7 Episode 8: Officer Krupke

November 9th, 2009 Alex Leave a comment Go to comments

Jeff’s indiscretion forces Larry to embrace his feminine side; one of Jeff’s clients competes with Cheryl for a Seinfeld role; a local law officer shares an unusual name.

Another enjoyable episode, that I think was on par with last week’s The Black Swan. I loved watching Susie and Larry in this one – the way she looks him up and down as he tries to walk like he’s wearing women’s underwear was classic. The argument with the Banana Republic salesman was also quiet funny. I did feel there was a bit of filler in the early to middle part of the episode, but there were quite  few memorable scenes/lines. I did like the bit where Larry and Jeff go to check the car for damage and Jeff trip’s over the kid’s toy – “What are you an idiot!”  The real humour lay in the plot and the final denouement, which was one of this season’s best. I got a genuine surprise seeing him in those red panties. Jeff’s last line was great as well. That guy sure is getting laid a lot these days!

What did you think?

Highlights:

  • “A little more at ease.. maybe a little kinder..”
  • “I think they deserve an adult critique”
  • “I’m good for buds… May I be excused?”
  • “You’re Larry David and you like the comfort of women’s panties!”
  • “Nothing at all. Cheryl!”
    “Cunnilingus!”
  • “I never saw Michelangelo in a brace!”
  • “You gotta tell Susie I was in a car accident.”

Very funny episode. One of the great ones. In my top 5 eps.

I second that. The last two minutes had me in tears from laughing so damn hard.

I think the payoff for the pantie joke, was predictable from the get go. Also, Jeff convincing Larry to play along with him wasn’t believable. There were three main observations, the first was quite funny, dealing with lost items and store policies. Larry inventing his own policy was a hoot. The second, about educating little kids (buds) was kinda weak and didn’t develop much. The third was about the neck brace resulting from either cunnilingus or car accident, was kinda similar to the pubic hair hair episode, where Larry also hurt his neck. Well, from time to time he deals with the same topics, but from different angles, so maybe that’s why it didn’t feel that fresh to me.
All in all, solid vintage episode, even when the main premise about Larry secretly wearing panties, was not established that well, and had a predictable ending.

It surprised me, to be honest with you… I don’t know whether it’s because I’m not the brightest, but I thought it’d go the other way at the end….

Yeah, I agree with Galahad – just ok..I liked Laura auditioning, however, and Larry and Jerry again ( – am I confusing episodes?) they really have something, together, (obviously!) and Jerry was looking a little better – I thought he was looking old, in the last ones..I also like Susie Essman eyeing Jerry to try to figure out if he was wearing panties or not..But it bothers me that Jeff is such a jerk..I really hate that..fat AND philandering..and Cheryl looks better every week..

and going along with Susie eyeing Larry, I liked Jeff coaching him on why he would wear panties – he was going for the overacting, and had to be toned down..very funny..

Damn, I was expecting the Seinfeld table read in this episode, now this leaves us with only 2 episodes to go and so much thing that could happen in the Seinfeld set… Overall it was a nice episode, although I didn’t get why Larry didn’t take the tags from the pants. On a side note, was this the 1st Curb episode ever in which Larry wasn’t in the opening scene?

nice catch for Ben Affleck! I didn’t notice at first sight. It was a huge ep, Elisabeth Shue was great and the ending was hilarious.

I thought this was by far the worst ep of the season so far.

Did you watch the Black Swan?

There’s only two ways you can injure your neck. One in a car accident. The other is cunnilingus

Braydon what is your beef with the black swan? You are by far the worst curb critic on the site. You can go cunnulingis on yourself braydon.

Cool double ending…LD reveals the panties, followed by a quickie scene with Jeff wearing the soft neck collar. Genius!

    @mitch9927

Why? Because I don’t agree with you?

And seeing as i don’t have female reproductive organs, I couldn’t perform cunninlingus on myself anyway, douche.
