Season 6 Episode 8: The N Word
Larry tries to do Auntie Rae a favor, but ends up offending her instead. Meanwhile, Jeff’s stay at the hospital to get a “snore job” opens up a new opportunity for Larry, who takes full advantage of it in Episode 58: “The N Word.”
Update: I really enjoyed this episode. What I most liked about it was the way the episode was constructed. One thing about the season so far that I’d noticed, was that while most episodes remained very, very funny, the brilliant way that Larry crafts and interwieves different ideas through his episodic storylines was not so evident. This episode put to bed any fears that Larry had lost this aspect of his genius. The way he interwove his erectile problems, bald discrimination, the use of “N word, and his dating a doctor was brilliant and reminded me of episodes like season 2’s The Doll. Admittedly, the ending was a little weak but the episode as a whole was just hilarious. I’m also eagerly awaitng this week’s The Psychiatrist guest-starring Steve Coogan.
Another great episode. Jeff is hilarious, and Leon definitely makes his usual scene.
Second best episode of the season, although the black Doctor’s reason for shaving Jeff’s head was stupid. And Brenda Strong as Dr Flomm was HAWT!
Great episode. I feel that as the season progresses, the episodes get better. Too bad it’s almost over. As for the “3 more seasons” thing, i’m happy that someone heard that, but i too agree that it probably won’t happen. When do we find out if there will be a new season?? Anyway, as for “The N Word”, I think that it was a great one but it frustrates me how Larry never thuroughly explains himself (ex. when in the car with Dr. Flan, he didnt explain, When he said the N word around the doctor, he just sat back and took it, and when he said it around Loretta it seemed as if he didnt mind because he didnt really say anything.) Looking forward to “The Therapist” tonight!
Episode 9 was GENIUS. I was laughing the entire time. Well done LD!
